After my big chop, I experimented with numerous hair products from conditioners, to deep conditioners, to moisturizers, to oils, to mists, etc.

Evening Spring Wedding
About 3 weeks ago, it hit me that my friend's wedding day was quickly approaching. When I looked in my closet, I did not think any of my dresses were suitable enough for this special occasion. Okay, maybe I just wanted a new purchase :/ My mind was set on something fun and chic with color, suitable for church, and comfortable.

My Big Chop
August 2, 2013 - The Big Day!
There were no doubts in my mind that I was ready to cut off ALL of my relaxed ends. I did not want a gradual cut. My impatient nature screamed out: All or nothing! As my older sister was on island, I asked her to perform my Big Chop.

Transitioning
I transitioned for 5 1/2 months (Feb. 15 - Aug. 2, 2014). During this time, I styled my hair mainly in braid outs, no heat curls (e.g. flexirods) or a bun. As a professional, I wanted to ensure that my hair was well kept during my transitioning phase.
My Decision To Go Natural
I was natural mostly all of my life, and surprisingly, continued with 'the struggle' throughout college. I did a pretty good job at maintaining my hair myself, as I loved everything about natural hair care; at the same time, I was not interested in spending hours or a fortune in hair salons. It was a hobby for me. I also did hairstyles such as braids, twists, cornrows, etc. with or without extensions for clients while in college. Why not make extra cash doing something I love?!?
